Roy Pea, Ph.D.Roy Pea joined Stanford's School of Education in September 2001 as Professor of Education and the Learning Sciences. In addition to teaching, Pea is also Director of the new Stanford Center for Innovations in Learning (SCIL), which was established in 2002 as an independent center of excellence at Stanford University. SCIL is dedicated to conducting scholarly research and related activities that advance the sciences, technologies, and practices supporting learning and teaching from early childhood through post-secondary education. Pea also directs the multi-institutional Center for Innovative Learning Technologies (http://cilt.org), funded by the National Science Foundation. One of its aims it to create a national knowledge network for catalyzing best practices and new designs for improving K-14 learning with technologies among researchers, schools, and industries.
