Virginia Will Expand Access to High-Speed Networks

Virginia's K-12 schools, museums and libraries will be among the first in the nation to connect to both the National LambdaRail and Internet2. This will provide better access to educational and research resources worldwide. It is being done through a new program that is co-sponsored by a group of Virginia research universities, including the University of Virginia. The Virginia Community College System, as well as schools, museums, and libraries connected to NetworkVirginia will be able to connect to NLR, Internet2, or both at no additional cost.

NetworkVirginia is a collaborative high-speed network project that already provides access across the state of Virginia. College Offers Prospective Students Free Music Downloads

Saint Joseph College, Connecticut's only four-year women's college, is using Apple’s iTunes in a new recruiting initiative to distribute information to potential students.

The college sent letters to high school juniors across the Northeast inviting them to register on the College's Admissions Web site. As an incentive, the students receive a special code granting them three free iTunes downloads. According to Alan Chesterton, associate vice president for Admission & Enrollment Services at Saint Joseph College, once the students register on the Admissions site, they will receive customized information from the college based on the interests they identified in their profile...(TCMnet)
