Interesting Google Initiatives Overseas

This take sees the Arab world as desperately in need of information technology and connectivity in order to tap the best future for its populations. Georgetown University Secure Network Delayed Until Spring

The delay is not due to institution of higher learning bureaucracy, but to an incompatibility in some Intel chips found in some recent laptops. Beth Ann Bergsmark, a director at Georgetown’s University Information Systems (UIS), said that problems with developing the new network arose during its testing process. Developers discovered a bug in the software of several new computer models, rendering these models incompatible with the new network. One option is for students with those laptops to buy new chips.
