Promisec Spectator Expands Agentless Endpoint Security

Security solutions provider Promisec has unveiled a new version of its Promisec Spectator Professional, an endpoint security management suite. The latest version adds support for Windows Vista and includes performance and feature enhancements as well.

Promisec Spectator Professional is a software-only clientless endpoint security management system designed to protect organizations from security threat within their internal networks. It offers endpoint behavior and policy compliance features, as well as automated remediation, to provide security and management of third-party security applications.

The latest release provides additional capabilities to provide "greater visibility into the endpoints and increased user flexibility, as well as improved inspection performance." Some of these enhancements include:

  • Alerts for outdated host virus definitions;
  • Detection of endpoint applications, whether installed or not; and
  • Support for Windows Vista across the product line.

Promisec said that, with the new version, if an employee uninstalls a malicious or unapproved application, the software will still be able to identify it. The software operates in environments tat include servers, workstations, desktops, and other network computing systems.
