INTEC Adopts Jenzabar ERP Suite

Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) in the Dominican Republic is deploying an ERP solution from Jenzabar called Jenzabar EX Total Campus Management. INTEC, a non-profit university, had previously been using systems developed in house. The university will implement the Jenzabar EX student suite and Jenzabar Internet Campus Solution over the next two years.

Jenzabar EX is a Windows-based suite of campus administrative tools, including accounts payable/receivable, admissions, advising, alumni relations, communications, financial aid, general ledger, payroll, personnel, purchasing, and registration, among others. The Web-enabled suite also provides course management, electronic learning, and electronic commerce functionality. The Internet Campus Solution is a portal system designed specifically for higher education.

“It is crucial for the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo to have a software system in place that will support our strategic priorities,” said Miguel J. Escala, INTEC dean, in a statement released this week. “Jenzabar’s Total Campus Management solution will help us improve our student services and enhance our capabilities to be an overall better institution.”

This is the third institution of higher education in Latin America or the Caribbean to adopt a Jenzabar ERP solution. The other two include Universidad Sagrado Corazon and Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. Jenzabar said it sees the need for ERP expanding in these regions and will expand its presence there.

INTEC is one of four fully autonomous universities in the Dominican Republic. It presently serves about 3,200 students.
