Rapid Intake Rolls Out eLearning Development Platform

Rapid Intake, an eLearning solution provider, has launched a new-Web-based platform for collaborative development of eLearning projects. The new tool, Unison, debuted Monday at the Training 2008 Conference & Expo.

Unison is designed to allow teams of developers--including contributors, reviewers, designers, and subject matter experts--to collaborate in real time on eLearning projects via the Web. The system, built on the company's eponymous Rapid Intake development engine, allows teams to creative interactive, SCORM-compliant courses in the Flash format, from storyboarding and design to reviewing and testing. Publishing is handled through a secure portal.

Unison's features include:

  • Template-based content creation for novice users;
  • SecureWorks-certified publishing portal;
  • Support for reusing custom, user-generated content;
  • Access to Flash source code for developers; and
  • Support for multiple contributors working on projects via the Web simultaneously.

Specific pricing was not available at press time, but it's based on a software as a service (SaaS) model. Further information can be found at Rapid Intake's Web site.
