Campus Technology Announces 2008 'Innovators' at Boston Conference

Winners Chosen from Hundreds of Campus Projects Across North America

[Press Release] Today Campus Technology magazine unveiled its 2008 slate of technology "Innovators" at the 15th annual Campus Technology Conference in Boston, MA.

Guest speaker Edward V. Chapel, VP for Information Technology at Montclair State University, joined Katherine Grayson, Editor-in-Chief of Campus Technology, at the morning's general session, where the winners were announced and their projects presented to a ballroom filled with campus education technology leaders looking for new ideas and approaches that could be applied to their own IT challenges.

"Innovators" were chosen from hundreds of nominations submitted by campus technologists, their peers, and their vendor partners to the annual contest. The submissions were reviewed by CT editors with 2008's field of 14 being selected from an initial group of 275 nominees.

Selections were made on the basis of true innovation--projects that involved not only a solid technology implementation, but something more that made the school stand out. Winning projects were notable for their unique approaches to tech challenges, or for providing an exceptional or unusual benefit to the campus community. Projects chosen involved both large and small budgets, and targeted a variety of technologies.
