Universities Sign PBS TeacherLine for Teacher Continuing Ed

Three universities--Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant; Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID; and Madonna University in Livonia, MI--have joined 25 other institutions in granting teachers graduate credit for completing PBS TeacherLine courses. The service offers about 130 online facilitator-led courses in reading, math, science, instructional technology, and instructional strategies.

The courses integrate audio, video, interactive functions, and online discussions and are available several times throughout the year. They're generally offered as independent study courses with specific beginning and ending dates.

In the case of Madonna U, the PBS courses are one of several online offerings for continuing education for teachers, which also include science courses offered by the university itself for K-12 teachers, Heinle ELT Advantage, Knowledge Delivery Systems, and eEducators, among others.
