Poynter Partners with Missouri State, Florida Atlantic for Journalism 101
News University, the Poynter Institute's e-learning project, has launched a partnership with Florida Atlantic University and Missouri State University as part of its Journalism 101 pilot program.
Journalism 101, funded by a $50,000 grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, is a 16-week course that that satisfies graduation requirements for a core journalism class at partner schools. It will feature live and video instruction by Poynter faculty and adjuncts and lessons from News University.
Florida Atlantic and Missouri State will guide the development of the program and help Poynter ensure that the content meets the needs of the schools and students.
News University offers more than 200 interactive e-learning modules and other forms of training for journalists, teachers, students, and the public. It is currently seeking more university partners for the Journalism 101 pilot.
