SCB Expo Call for Presenters Deadline Nearing
The School and College Building Expo is accepting proposals for presentations for its upcoming conference, focusing on K-12 and higher education facilities planning, design, construction, and management.
The event will be held Jan. 24 to 26 and for the first time will be co-located with the annual FETC conference, a K-12 education technology event. Both events are operated by this publication's parent company, 1105 Media. SCB Expo 2012 will also play host to the winter conference of the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education (not affiliated with 1105 Media).
The theme for the 2012 event is "Innovation and Moving Forward in the New Economy," and potential presenters are encouraged to develop topics along that theme. Suggested topics include changing economic realities, master planning, building technologies, operations, sustainability, education technology, and government involvement, among others.
Industry experts and executives, thought leaders in education design, and facilities professionals will be "most likely to be considered," according to SCBE. Vendors are also invited to present case studies of their work. All presentations will be reviewed by 1105 Media, SCBE, and the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education.
The deadline for submissions is Oct. 21. Additional suggestions and links to further guidelines can be found on SCBE's presenter guidelines page.
Proposals can be submitted using the online application. Additional details can be found on the SCBE site.
