Kaltura Updates Video Extensions for Blackboard, Moodle

Kaltura, provider of an open source online video platform, has launched new versions of two of its learning management system (LMS) extensions, Kaltura Video Package for Moodle 2.x and Kaltura Video Building Block 2.0 for Blackboard 9.x.

Both extensions are designed to allow students, faculty members, and others to access and use video through their institution's existing LMS, "while at the same time reducing the costs and complexity of video management," according to information released by the company.

Designed to support Moodle versions 2.0 and up, the new version adds an improved workflow for instructors and administrators, playback via mobile device, the ability to synchronize video playback and documents, the ability for students to submit video responses to assignments, and support for grading and feedback.

The new Blackboard extension has added a clipping tool for simple editing tasks, HTTPS video delivery, and tighter integration with the Kaltura Management Console.

More information, video tutorials, and free trials of both extensions are available at corp.kaltura.com.
