King's U Moves to Web-Based ERP System
King's University, based in Van Nuys, CA, has migrated to a Web-based academic enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to replace its existing on-premises system.
Administrators reportedly found that increasing student enrollment, expanding online programs, and the operational complexities of managing numerous teaching sites in three states were taxing the university's existing system, and they began looking for an alternative solution that would enable them to manage multiple sites through a single, Web-based system.
CAMS Enterprise is an academic ERP system that is entirely Web-based, designed specifically for higher education, and built around a single, shared Microsoft SQL database. Colleges and universities can use it to manage recruitment, marketing, online applications, block-and-sequence registration, registration and payment, integrated financial aid, degree auditing, outcome tracking, integrated portals, and reporting. It's also capable of managing a variety of term structures, including semesters or trimesters, serial or concurrent terms, and variable term start and end dates. Its CAMS Enterprise Business Analytics feature also offers a number of dashboards for faculty, administrators, department heads, and other users to view data on demand.
After evaluating a number of solutions, administrators at King's University selected CAMS Enterprise from Three Rivers Systems based on its out-of-the-box configuration, self-service customization, integration capabilities, and capacity to handle growth, according to information released by the company..
"With teaching sites in Northern and Southern California, Colorado, and Texas, we need a Web-based system that's completely interconnected," said Donald Brubaker, vice president of student services for King's University, in a prepared statement. "CAMS Enterprise is built around a single database, so once student information is entered into the system, it can be shared safely and securely among authorized users. CAMS also gives us the business-intelligence tools we need to run our operations more efficiently while allowing us to plan for the future."
King's University is based in California and operates five other teaching sites in California, Colorado, and Texas, as well as an online program. The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate theological programs.
