BenchPrep Adds Video Courses

BenchPrep, a developer of online and mobile courses, is now offering 40 video courses in software training, math, science, and business. This is the first time the Chicago, IL-based company has made video resources available.

The courses are being made available through partnerships with CompuWorks, an IT education provider; National Repository of Online Courses (NROC), a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education; and independent educators. Courses include Adobe Captivate, Managerial Accounting, Environmental Science, and United States History.
           
In total, the BenchPrep platform has more than 200 courses available, with almost 2,000 videos and 40,000 assessment units. Course materials come from McGraw Hill, Cengage Learning, Flat World Knowledge, CompuWorks, and Allen Prep. All courses include course content, interactive study tools, and diagnostic reports. Each one consists of review modules, digital flashcards, practice questions, and practice tests.

BenchPrep also includes features designed to monitor students’ course progress, including:

  • The ability to record when students view videos and how many times;
  • Monitoring of what devices they view videos on and in what order; and
  • Data for parents and teachers to help guide students to areas in need of improvement.

The 40 new video courses are available as part of BenchPrep’s monthly subscription plan, which includes Web only and Web and mobile options. Web only costs $20 each month or $199 per year, and Web and mobile costs $30 per month or $299 annually.
