Visix Introduces RoomBoard Interactive Room Management System

Visix RoomBoard
RoomBoard allows users to reserve rooms via interactive map.

The new RoomBoard touchscreen room-management solution from Visix combines interactive wayfinding, room availability visualization, and room scheduling on one screen. The system was introduced at InfoComm 2013 last week in Orlando.

The RoomBoard is custom-built with a university's logo, colors, and map. Maps are interactive and room availability is instantly recognizable by color (green for available rooms; busy rooms in red). Point-to-point directions and event schedules can be included, or content blocks can play back standard playlists.

Room availability is fed by a scheduling application, and a hot spot can be incorporated to launch either Microsoft Exchange or EMS, allowing viewers to schedule rooms right at the RoomBoard.

For an enterprise-wide scheduling system, universities can integrate the RoomBoard with Visix's MeetingMinder room signs, all connected to a central application that allows scheduling at each display.
