MIT Adds New Partner to Cybersecurity Initiative
MIT's Interdisciplinary Consortium for
Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity, (IC)3, has added a new private partner.
The invitation-only initiative aims to encourage collaboration between industry leaders, government and MIT faculty and students "to aid in
the research and development of solutions to better protect organizations from the ever rising threat of cyberattacks," according to a news
release. The newest addition is content delivery company Limelight.
"MIT has played a long and historic role in addressing pressing challenges to the nation and the world, through initiatives from Radar to
the Apollo Program," said Stuart Madnick, MIT Sloan professor and academic director of (IC)3, in a news release. "Now, we face a global crisis
with the cybersecurity of our critical infrastructure. The support from and collaboration with Limelight is extremely valuable in our effort to
develop novel and effective solutions."
"With the risk and scope of cyberattacks continuing to rapidly increase, Limelight joined (IC)3 to collaborate with thought leaders to push
the envelope on improving cybersecurity," said Kurt Silverman, senior vice president of development and delivery at Limelight. "We are proud to
be part of the solution and have made a three year commitment to closely collaborate with industry leaders to find effective new protections
that stay ahead of constantly evolving threats."
