Pantheon Launches EDU Version for Higher Ed
Pantheon, a Web site management platform for WordPress and Drupal, has introduced Pantheon for EDU exclusively for educational
institutions.
Pantheon is a tool for developing and managing WordPress and Drupal sites
through a centralized interface. According to information on the company's
site, it offers template management and branding, along with a single dashboard
for viewing and managing access to sites. Developers can use it to manage their
WordPress and Drupal versions, plugins and modules, and test new features in a
development environment before rolling them out to the live site.
Key features of Pantheon for EDU include:
- Dashboard for a master view of all WordPress and Drupal projects;
- Role-based permissions for controlling access;
- Support for Multidev workflow tools to create cloud development
environments;
- Site management and tagging tools for organizing people and projects;
- Automated system administration, including configuration, deployment and
maintenance of infrastructure; and
- Unlimited free development sites.
More than 50 agencies have joined Pantheon for EDU as Partner Specialists to
support universities with the product. Some of those partner specialists
include Cheeky Monkey, ForumOne, Kalamuna, MediaCurrent, Palantir, Spark451,
SystemSeed and Unicon.
Pantheon for EDU development sites are free for any institutions with a .EDU
Web address, and according to information on the company's site, educational
institutions must pay only for live hosting of their sites.
