Ohio U to Offer Free Training in Coding, Tech Skills

Ohio University students and alumni will now have access to intensive online and on-site training in coding and other tech skills, thanks to a partnership with technology talent development company Revature.

The university turned to Revature to help give its students hands-on training and prepare them to fill gaps in the state's workforce, according to a news release. "Employers consistently indicate the need for more college graduates in STEM areas," said Imants Jaunarajs, assistant dean of students for the Career and Leadership Development Center at the university, in a statement. "Our partnership with Revature will help Ohio graduates launch careers as well as fulfill our roles as a talent pool and driving economic force in the region."

The Revature training is free for both students and alumni. Graduates of the immersive program "gain the enterprise software development training to become more marketable in the new labor workforce, and companies gain access to highly skilled, career-ready tech talent," the company said.
