Audio conferencing company Nureva has launched a new classroom solution that integrates audio, video, device management and services. Nureva XT is intended for hyflex and hybrid classroom use, according to the company, enabling participation by both in-person and remote students. The system plugs into a single USB port on the instructor's computer.

The lineup offers four variations, depending on the size of the classroom. Each combines a Nureva audio system (HDL300 for standard and Dual HDL300 for large) with the new Nureva CV30 classroom camera kit. The sets also include either a three- or five-year subscription to Nureva Pro, which combines Nureva Console software for device monitoring as well as technical support, extended product warranty and advance replacement.

Each setup provides for full-room microphone pickup, in-room voice amplification, playback of audio content and front-of-room video coverage with auto tracking, camera presets and digital pan/tilt/zoom, for instructor tracking as he or she moves about the room.

The Nureva solutions integrate with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Cisco Webex, Lifesize and other video conferencing systems.

One Nureva customer is the University of North Carolina Hussmann School of Journalism and Media, which has implemented 18 Nureva HDL300 systems in the building and plans to add six more.

The university has also selected Nureva as the audio system of choice for Curtis Hall, a state-of-the art building for media education currently under construction. The showcase building will have up to seven HDL300 systems in key studio and learning spaces.

"What I like best about Nureva audio systems is the simplicity. All I have to do is plug it in, and it works. It just works," said Gary Kirk, broadcast engineer at UNC's Hussman School, in a press release. "Nureva is the perfect choice to fulfill our goal of building classrooms that are collaborative, scalable and affordable."

"Today's classrooms require the flexibility to support a wide variety of scenarios that involve the need for people outside the classroom to participate in learning sessions, whether they be guest speakers participating remotely or students joining the class from home, other classrooms or elsewhere," added Nureva CEO Nancy Knowlton. "We are excited to announce a full-featured classroom solution that is future proofed and offers the simplicity, flexibility and reliability that have become so critical in today's education environments."

The new classroom solution is expected to ship this quarter in the United States. Pricing ranges from $4,499 to $7,699. For more information, visit the Nureva site.
