D2L Announces New Tools for Creativity, Improved UX

Global learning technology company D2L, maker of the Brightspace learning management system, has updated and added new features to its product suite. The updates include tools to promote creativity, improve the user experience, and strengthen the learning ecosystem, the company said.

For administrators and educators, D2L unveiled Creator+, which simplifies creating learning content. It includes ready-to-use templates, interactive elements, screen captures, and practice exercises, using Brightspace workflows. Course content can be customized, and support is available for educators who need help. Go to the Creator+ page to learn more.

The launch of D2L Adventure offers curriculum-aligned digital resources for grades 1-9 in North America. Lessons in math, language, science, social studies, and more include graphic assets and instructional videos. Assessments are built into the gradebook tool to help educators track student progress. More information can be found on the D2L Adventure page.

The new Brightspace Community makes it easier to access documents and other resources, ask questions, find information, and keep track of upcoming events. The Brightspace Community page has more information.

Updates to existing tools increase efficiency and consistency, the company said. Among those are:

  • A new quiz creation experience for infrequent users;
  • The ability to copy assignments from one course to another;
  • Improvements to LTI, including SAML Just-in-Time authentication;
  • DTL's recent ISO 27017 certification; and
