SIIA To Release Educational Gaming Best Practices Guide
The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) this month will release three new reports detailing attitudes toward 21st century learning, best practices for using games and simulations in schools, and trends surrounding mobile devices and online learning.
Among the publications to be unveiled at the show is the 2009 SIIA Vision K-20 Survey, a a research project that was part of the SIIA's Vision K-20 effort focused on developing a technology-based educational framework for K-12 schools, colleges, and universities. It's designed as a benchmarking tool for individual institutions and a national trends report focusing on 21st century learning, differentiated instruction, mobile/online access, assessment tools, enterprise support, and demographics.
SIIA will also release a publication called "Best Practices for Using Games and Simulations in the Classroom" and the "SIIA Trends Report on Education Technology: Mobile Devices, Online Learning and the States' Role."
Karen Billings, vice president of the SIIA Education Division, will reveal details of the new publications Jan. 23 at the FETC conference in Orlando, FL.
