South Suburban College in South Holland, IL has selected Datatel to create a new student information system. Datatel's technology and professional services will replace a legacy system currently used by the institution.
"South Suburban College is pleased to enter into this partnership with Datatel for a new administrative platform," said Frank Zuccarelli, chairman of the board of trustees. "This technology will allow us to communicate more efficiently, advance our learning assessment capabilities, and improve our overall level of services for our students and community."
The college has licensed Datatel's Colleague and ActiveAdmissions Community College Edition. The first is an application specifically designed to manage and improve departmental workflows, business processes, productivity, and efficiency across the enterprise. The second is an e-recruitment solution that adds personalization and e-recruitment tools to an institution's Web site.
South Suburban will also deploy Datatel's ActiveCampus Portal, a Web-based workgroup collaboration and social networking solution. Built on Microsoft SharePoint technology, the service provides a single point of access to information and resources for users campus-wide.
Datatel's suite of applications and services, bundled under the name, Strategic Academic Enterprise, supports five cross-functional domains: strategic enrollment management, strategic planning, institutional advancement and marketing, teaching and learning, and performance and operational management.
South Suburban is the 17th community college in Illinois to choose Datatel as its preferred technology business advisor.
