Stratford U Adopts SunGard HE Administrative Apps

Stratford University in Woodbridge, VA outside of Washington, DC has licensed the PowerCampus Unified Digital Campus (UDC) from SunGard Higher Education to enhance administrative functions at the institution at a time of major growth. The private institution licensed the PowerCampus student solution and the PowerFAIDS financial aid solution. The student population at the institution grew by 260 percent--from 457 students in 2005 to its current enrollment of 1,200 students. The university recently opened a second campus and plans to open at a third location in the near future.

"The PowerCampus UDC will help us provide our growing population with an easier way to interact with the university. The self-service features and ease of access to information will help create a quality administrative experience that is in step with the superior experience that Stratford strives to deliver in academics," said John Dovi, CFO. "PowerCampus will also give us a platform to help meet the needs of our future enrollment growth, while providing our senior executives with the data and managerial metrics they need to best manage the university."

Currently, Dovi explained, many administrative processes must be performed manually, and the current operating system has limited reporting features. He expects the new application to streamline and automate routine administrative tasks, such as allowing students to register for classes and apply for financial aid through online functionality. "And delivered reports will provide information to help us work efficiently and make smart decisions for the future of our institution," he added.
