Plagiarism Detection Tool To Get LMS Integration

iParadigms has unveiled Turnitin2, the latest version of its online tool for plagiarism detection and the encouragement of proper citation in student papers. The new release, which will be available to customers who purchased the company's previous WriteCycle product at no extra charge, is expected to be released Sept. 4.

Like its predecessor, Turnitin2 scans student essay content and compares it against a database of journals, Web pages, student papers, and other publications through a Web browser. The latest release will integrate the formerly separate components of iParadigms' WriteCycle package, providing citation, peer review and feedback, and assignment grading features, plus integration with learning management systems Blackboard, Moodle, and Desire2Learn.

Turnitin2 will offer a comprehensive view of any given paper in its original format, along with all color-coded grading and feedback markups. Also featured are security enhancements, as well as instructor tools for setting up classes, writing assignments, milestone dates, and a submission history view.

Starting Aug. 23, current Turnitin users can try a beta version of the new Turnitin2 release. Although pricing information is not presently available, previous versions were offered through various licensing options priced according to subscription time or number of reports generated.
