Lauren Innovations Updating Web-based Incident Management Module

Lauren Innovations has released details of an update to its Web-based security incident application. The upgrade to Lauren's Incident Management module will include new reporting options to comply with federal Clery Act reporting standards. The module is part of NaviGate, the company's integrated suite, which also contains programs for learning, document, and emergency management. The updated version will launch in December.
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires colleges and universities to track and report crime statistics on and around their campuses.
With the new updates, NaviGate customers will be able to tag each incident and report measurable statistics through the incident management system. Users will also be able to set up automatic notifications based on set criteria. "Once the specific criteria is met, like a certain number of car break-ins within a defined timeframe, the system will automatically trigger a notification email to interested parties," explained Technical Product Manager Chris Porter.
The incident management module provides a way for campus security offices to capture, monitor, and report on incident trends such as student disputes, resident hall events, thefts, property damage, banned people, and other security-related data. It also provides a way to share information among staff and emergency personnel, such as evacuation procedures, live video and camera links, multi-site floor plans, and call lists.
In the last two years the company's software has been implemented at multiple institutions, including Columbia College in Columbia, SC; Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN; James Madison University in Virginia; and Kent State University at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia, OH.
