Penn State Deploys iPad Presentation Tool

Educators at Pennsylvania State University have a new way to present learning materials in their classrooms, without being tethered to their podiums.

Penn State has installed Doceri Desktop, a tool from San Francisco, CA-based SP Controls that allows educators to access and remotely control presentations from their podium computer using an iPad. The university deployed the software in 314 classrooms across 12 campuses and has also made it available for use as a supported service to all "Information Technology Services (ITS) managed classroom computers," according to a company statement. A number of instructors are also using the Doceri iPad app to produce videos for a flipped classroom model.

Additional information about Doceri is available online.
