Cornell University is rolling out a new mobile app to stay on top of facilities work. The Ithaca, NY institution has adopted EZMaxMobile from InterPro Solutions to help facilities staff manage work orders for the 800 structures that populate the 2,300-acre main campus.
EZMaxMobile handles work order management, inventory tracking, asset auditing, bar code scanning, picture upload, GPS guidance, and other functions. The software runs on the main mobile platforms — Apple iOS, Blackberry, and Google Android — as well as Windows Phone and standard computers. A server engine runs within the campus' application server infrastructure.
"Cornell University continues to be on the forefront of applying technology innovations to streamline operations and provide superior service to our campus partners," said Michael Baker, Cornell system administrator. "EZMaxMobile provided all of the features we were looking for and we were impressed by the ease of use that will enable a quick rollout to our workforce."
Project Manager Erin Sill added that the use of the app has increased productivity, reduced paperwork, and "improved morale... We are impressed with how quickly our users are adapting to the application."
InterPro applications have also been in use by Babson College and Northeastern University.
