EdX Expands Course Lineup for Fall 2013
EdX, a nonprofit massive open online course (MOOC) provider launched by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard, has expanded its course lineup for fall 2013.
"These new courses include active learning, game-like experiences, social integration, instant feedback and cutting-edge virtual laboratories, with which students can explore a variety of topics from the comfort of their computer," according to an edX news release.
EdX courses on the fall slate, beginning on various dates in October, include:
"Our vision for online learning is to empower students to create their own educational paths that will allow them to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals," said Anant Agarwal, president of edX, in a prepared statement. "Through edX, students have access to courses that will enhance their on-campus learning experience by enabling them to gain an extra studying edge, pursue their passions, or even explore subjects they've never tried before. More than 1.3 million students have already registered for edX courses, and we're hoping millions more will log on and join our cause."
