Barco Expands ClickShare Collaborative System with New Base Unit
The new CSM Base Unit
|
Barco has unveiled a new base unit for its ClickShare wireless collaborative presentation system.
ClickShare is a technology that's designed to let multiple users on multiple computers collaborate on a single projector.
Barco has three individual projectors in its Collaborate line that are designed to work with ClickShare: the CNWU-61B, which offers WUXGA resolution, a brightness of 6,000 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 6,500:1; the CRWQ-62B, which offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 (WQXGA), a brightness of 5,500 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 6,500:1; and the CRPN-52B, which offers a panoramic resolution of 2,560 x 1,080, a brightness of 5,000 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 6,500:1.
The ClickShare software automatically adjusts composition and resolution based on the number of users.
The new CSM Base Unit provides the basic functionality of the higher-end base unit but allows only one presenter to use the screen at one time. (With the original CSC Base Unit, multiple screens could be displayed simultaneously on one projector.) As Barco described it: "The new CSM Base Unit displays images up to Full HD resolution — via its HDMI or VGA output — and is fully compatible with both the ClickShare Button and the free apps for iOS and Android. Only one user can share on-screen at a time, but eight Buttons can be connected wirelessly to the base unit, ready to share. A set consists of the CSM Base Unit and two ClickShare Buttons.
The CSM Base Unit is available now in North America and Europe. It runs $1,750. Additional details can be found on Barco's site.
