Syracuse to Launch Online Engineering Degrees Powered by 2U

A new Engineering@Syracuse program at Syracuse University's College of Engineering and Computer Science will offer three online degrees — Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Master of Science in Computer Science, and Master of Science in Cybersecurity — through the 2U platform. The school also plans to launch a new online graduate degree in cybersecurity.

2U combines a cloud-based learning platform with technology-enabled services that provide schools with the infrastructure they need to attract, enroll, educate, support and graduate students globally, according to the company. Syracuse's new degree offerings "will feature live face-to-face online classes taught by College of Engineering and Computer Science professors, dynamic course content, and real-world learning experiences," all subject to the same academic criteria as students in the university's on-campus programs.

"At Syracuse, we believe in education that transcends traditional classroom learning. That's why the College of Engineering and Computer Science has created dynamic online programs to allow students around the world to earn degrees from Syracuse while continuing to work in their careers," said Teresa Dahlberg, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, in a press release. "We have chosen to make this change and partner with 2U because of 2U's unique comprehensive operating infrastructure and demonstrated ability to support universities in delivering the highest quality online degrees. This partnership will strengthen our ability to offer invaluable opportunities for students and will help us further our mission of developing computer science experts, leaders and innovators."
