DVIGear Extends DisplayPort Signal to 100 Meters

DVIGear is revealing a new technology to extend the range of DisplayPort cable to 100 meters at this week’s InfoComm 2016 conference taking place in Las Vegas.

The DisplayPort v1.2 Active Optical Cables allow users to extend the range of 4K/60 Hz signals (in 4:4:4) up to 100 meters using the DisplayPort’s own power. The cables are expected to ship in August.

DVIGear is also showing:

  • DisplayNet technology, which uses 10 gigabit Ethernet switches for distributing uncompressed UHD 4K signals.
  • DVI-3585a 4K Presentation Switcher/Scaler, a $1,495 device that can switch and scale up to 4K/30 Hz and offers four HDMI inputs, one DisplayPort input, one RGB input and one DVI input, as well as HDMI and HDBaseT mirrored outputs. It supports RS-232, LAN and IR remote controls.
  • DVI-7340 4K MultiPort Fiber Optic Extender, which supports HDMI 1.4 or DVI (including HDCP) along with RS-232, Ethernet and audio over a single optical cable.

DVIGear is exhibiting in booth C7141.
