Cengage Expands Subscription Service
Cengage is making its Cengage Unlimited subscription service available to more students through a partnership with Follett. Beginning this fall, the service will be available at Follett's 1,200-plus campus store locations as well as online.
Announced this past December, Cengage Unlimited provides access to all Cengage digital course materials for a flat fee of $119.99 per semester. Print textbook rentals are also available for free (plus a $7.99 shipping fee). The Cengage library includes more than 22,000 products across 70 disiplines and more than 675 courses, according to the company.
Cengage also recently announced a deal with textbook rental company Chegg, which will give Cengage Unlimited subscribers free 30-day trial access to Chegg's Learning Services. Those services include:
- Chegg Study, a study aid that combines "step-by-step solutions to problems in more than 28,000 college textbooks and a database of more than 13 million expert questions and answers";
- Chegg Math, an "artificial intelligence-based mathematical equation solver";
- EasyBib Plus, designed to help students "learn and improve sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and identify when and how to cite their papers to prevent plagiarism"; and
- One hour of one-on-one tutoring with a subject-matter expert through Chegg Tutors.
Cengage Unlimited will officially launch in August 2018. For more information, visit the Cengage site.
