Ellucian Unveils Mobile Platform for Colleges and Universities

Ellucian has launched a new mobile platform for colleges and universities that supports native and Web apps. Ellucian Mobile was announced this week at Educause 2012, which takes place Nov. 6-9 in Denver, CO. It can be purchased beginning Jan. 1 and will be available in March.

Ellucian Mobile allows colleges to create apps branded to their institution that provide information to students, faculty, and visitors. It takes the place of Ellucian Mobile Access and Ellucian Mobile Connection and integrates with Banner by Ellucian, Colleague by Ellucian, and PowerCampus by Ellucian.

Included apps are:

  • Notifications;
  • Campus news;
  • Directories;
  • Events;
  • Rosters;
  • Grades; and
  • Course schedules.

Ellucian also offers a more customizable option that provides access to the code and platform.

"Customers want to deliver mobile services that matter, but many are finding it difficult to get started or difficult to keep up with the changing environment," said John F. Speer III, president and CEO, Ellucian. "Ellucian Mobile will help customers leverage their existing investments and the power of their campus systems more quickly, cost-effectively, and consistently. We will also leverage the power of the community through our Shared Code Repository which will help our customers more easily share their mobile innovations across our community.

Colleges that enroll by June 15 will have the license fee waived.

Universities will be able to download Ellucian Mobile from the Apple App store or Google Play store. For more information, visit ellucian.com. Ellucian is exhibiting at the Educause conference in booth 1403.
