North Carolina Central U Overhauls Administrative Platform

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, NC, will overhaul its platform for student and faculty records, making more information accessible via both mobile and desktop devices.

The 8,200-plus-student university selected N2N Services to design and implement the platforms that, the company said, will integrate data analytics, communications, enrollment management, student retention and dropout prevention programs.
The 8,200 students at North Carolina Central University will have more access to information and services via their mobile devices.

The new technology for N2N will allow several features not currently available to faculty and students:

  • The ability for students to register for classes from their mobile devices;
  • A way for students to monitor their accounts and to pay bills online;
  • Easy access to schedules, integrated with digital content as well as assessment data from faculty;
  • Providing faculty with a secure way to take class attendance;
  • Providing faculty and advisors with early alerts to monitor student progress and provide aid to at-risk students;
  • The capability to make degree requirements accessible from both desktop and mobile devices;
  • The ability to access financial aid data and interact with the counseling staff; and
  • The capability to interact with different modules and features provided by the student information system, enrollment management system and learning management systems.

"This will position NCCU to leverage today's portfolio of educational technology applications to benefit current students and faculty," said N2N Services Vice President of Technology Joel Dunn.
