New England College Doubles Online Degree Options
New England College (NEC) is beefing up its online degree offerings with the addition of a half-dozen new associates and bachelors degrees.
The new degree programs include bachelor of arts degrees in sociology and humanities, bachelor of science degrees in human services and social sciences, an associate of arts degree in sociology and an associate of science degree in human services. The new offerings will join programs in accounting, business administration, criminal justice, healthcare administration, liberal studies and psychology.
Using technology and support services from Bisk Education, NEC's online degree programs feature "online lectures and videos [that] can be viewed on any Internet-ready computer or mobile device, so students can play, pause and rewind at their convenience," according to a news release. "A vibrant online community includes instant messaging, chat, faculty-led discussion boards and more, allowing students to collaborate on group projects and consult with each other and professors when they need advice or assistance."
The four-credit course begin seven times each year and can be completed in seven weeks.
"We're excited about the latest additions to our online undergraduate offerings," said Mark Watman, NEC provost, in a prepared statement. "Our new degrees allow students to develop strong writing, critical thinking and analytical abilities – lasting skills that prepare degree candidates for careers in hundreds of diverse fields, as well as graduate study."
