Jive, iTalent Partner on Higher Ed distance Learning Initiative

Communication and collaboration tool provider Jive Software has partnered with iTalent, a provider of IT consulting services, in an effort to make online learning more consistent with traditional classrooms for teachers and students.

The partnership combines Jive's cloud-based external communication tool, Jive-x, with iTalent's higher ed implementation services.

"The new partnership delivers an experience for students and institutions to connect, communicate and collaborate in virtual learning environments and supports the requirements for accreditation and standardization," according to a news release. "Additionally, the virtual campus environment connects students to the campus community in a way that was once only reserved to students attending the physical campus."

"Our higher education initiative extends our reach across campuses throughout the country for the next-generation campus and learning experience," said Renee La Londe, CEO of iTalent, in a prepared statement. "Jive provides our students, faculty and even alumni the opportunity to virtually communicate and connect in a more meaningful way."

The companies also recently partnered with Wichita State University to provide the school a social intranet for its Applied Technology Acceleration Institute.
