Texas A&M Taps Private Partner for SIS Audit and Compliance

The Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) has negotiated a master professional services contract with an IT consulting firm, with the goal of enabling all TAMUS members to reduce the operating costs of student information system (SIS) services and improve support for audit and compliance functions.

Several TAMUS campuses have already been using the services of Columbia Advisory Group (CAG) to help reduce SIS costs. With this new agreement, all TAMUS members will now have the opportunity "to use CAG services to help lower the cost of tracking student information, including applications, financial aid and other student data," according to a news release from CAG and TAMUS.

CAG conducts detailed analysis of its clients' IT systems and offers solutions to IT issues, including SIS management, audit remediation and leadership and governance services. "The company is known for working with difficult and demanding IT problems in a variety of economic, regulatory and budgetary environments," according to information from CAG.

Mark Stone, chief information officer for TAMUS, estimated that CAG could help the university system reduce the cost of tracking student information by 30 percent on average.
