PASCO Scientific Debuts New Wireless Sensors for STEM Ed

PASCO Scientific will unveil four new additions to its line of wireless sensors for STEM education at next week's ISTE conference.

The latest additions to the line, which is compatible with multiple technology platforms including Windows, OS X, iOS, Android and Chrome, include conductivity, light, voltage and current sensors.

"By simplifying lab setup and removing the clutter of cables, the wireless sensors allow students to perform experiments that were difficult or impossible before, and spend more time exploring," according to a news release. "Using the sensors' onboard memory, students can stream live data or collect and store data on the sensors."

The new sensors will be available in July. Wireless sensors currently available include pH, temperature, pressure and force and acceleration, along with a wireless cart that transmits position, velocity, force and acceleration data.

"The wireless sensors provide an affordable solution for schools looking for STEM tools that power scientific inquiry and unleash students' imaginations," said Steven Korte, CEO of PASCO. "With PASCO's wireless solutions, teachers can create an active learning environment where students work creatively and collaboratively to explore the wonders of science. Even more exciting, students can reveal otherwise invisible phenomena, opening up possibilities to ask and then answer questions about the world around them."
