Wayne State and Merit Partner to Host Cyber Hub

The Michigan Cyber Range provides certification courses in more than 20 cybersecurity disciplines.

Wayne State University is one of two locations to host new cybersecurity training hubs created by Merit Network. The Ann Arbor-based network infrastructure company will launch the hub on Wayne State’s campus this fall.

The Michigan Cyber Range (MCR) aims to provide a “secure environment for cybersecurity education, training and testing,” according to Merit’s website. The MCR will provide certification courses in more than 20 cybersecurity disciples, including computer forensics and network security.

“This hub will allow us to expand our offerings in cybersecurity to students, as well as professional development training to clients and secure software testing for our corporate partners,” said Ahmad Ezzeddine, associate vice president for educational outreach and international programs at WSU, in a prepared statement.

Wayne State’s Advanced Technology Education Center will host the MCR. The second hub will be located an hour from Wayne State at Pinckney Community High School. Both locations will be operational this fall. Further information about the MCR’s offerings is available on the Merit site.
