Franklin U Offers Credit for Company-Delivered Courses

A private, non-profit university in Ohio has begun working with a company that delivers healthcare and public safety courses to help the individuals of that training gain a pathway to a college degree. Franklin University has teamed up with Relias Learning in an arrangement that offers college credit for Relias training.

Relias offers 3,000 courses for continuing education, career development and corporate training in multiple industries, including behavioral health, senior care, home health care, intellectual and developmental disabilities and law enforcement and corrections.

Students who have taken training from Relias will be able to receive credit for those courses that will be recognized by Franklin U's College of Health & Public Administration toward a bachelor's degree. The agreement is actually with that college's workforce development division, FranklinWORKS.

"By partnering with Relias Learning, we have the opportunity to provide a cost-effective pathway for those who have completed Relias Learning credit to continue their education," said Franklin's Bill Chan, executive director of partnership development, in a prepared statement. "Providing this benefit helps prepare professionals to improve the quality of life in diverse communities through leadership and public service."
