Campus Labs to Acquire Chalk & Wire

Data and assessment company Campus Labs is expanding its analytics platform with the acquisition of Chalk & Wire. Chalk & Wire's learning assessment and credentialing tools will "allow Campus Labs to provide enhanced and integrated ways to assess student learning [and] unlock the power of student learning across varied, measurable learning paths," according to a news announcement.

The Campus Labs platform provides data analytics to assess institutional effectiveness, including measures of student success and engagement, learning assessment and reporting for accreditation. By integrating Chalk & Wire's assessment technology, the company hopes to help institutions better understand the student learning journey, including competencies beyond the traditional transcript, and more effectively promote persistence, the announcement said.

"With the addition of Chalk & Wire's market-leading e-portfolio tools and services, Campus Labs continues to evolve the resources available to follow the student journey through an institution," said Eric Reich, co-founder and president of Campus Labs, in a statement. "By delivering a more embedded offering to assess students at the individual level, Campus Labs can continue to develop the opportunity to help institutions deepen their understanding of student learning."
