Montana State Moves to Desire2Learn Across All Campuses

Montana State University has switched its learning management system to the Desire2Learn eLearning Suite across all four of its campuses. The university system previously used WebCT.

According to information released by Desire2Learn, the company's system was selected "by MSU through a public RFP process and with input from a large group of faculty, staff and students. MSU has a compelling mission to enhance student learning across the state and internationally with Desire2Learn's comprehensive eLearning Suite to support, enhance and build student success. Instructors have responded positively to Desire2Learn's rich features such as the intuitive user-interface and highly interactive discussion and collaboration."

Montana State will wrap up its full transition to Desire2Learn this summer for distance learning courses and for in-person courses that include a Web component. The implementation will be ready for the fall semester.

Montana State University serves more than 20,000 students across four campuses, including about 2,000 at MSU-Great Falls College of Technology, 1,200 at MSU-Northern, 5,000 at MSU-Billings, and 12,000 the main campus, MSU-Bozeman.
